What coffee pods can I use with the Senseo HD7832 Supreme coffee maker?
Q. I am looking into buying the Senseo HD7832/55 Supreme Single-Serve coffee maker and would like to know if I can use coffee pods from other makers as well,or if I have to buy Senseo pods.
A. For the most part no the other pods dont work in it. The Senseo makes a smaller cup of coffee than most other single serve coffee makers so the pods are not as thick. If you do use other types of pods in it use the pod holder that allows you to put two senseo pods in it.
I have used Folgers pods in mine (using the double pod holder) with no problem but it doesnt taste as good and it doesnt foam the way the Senseo does.

What is a good heavy duty coffee maker?
Q. For christmas I plan on getting the parents a coffee maker that doesn't break down within a year. At home we have really hard water that tends to chew up most modern coffee makers, I need one that can handle that along with having a timer/etc all those good things.
A. That's a good one. I strongly reccomend anything by Senseo for heavy duty coffee makers.
How many different one cup coffee makers are there?
Q. My mom wants one of those one cup coffee makers. I'm trying to find a decently priced one, but the only one I can find is the Keurig B60 Single Cup Coffee Maker, which is $120.00. I was looking for something a little cheaper. Does anyone have any suggestions?
A. There are three main single serve technologies out there:
1. Coffee Pods - The coffee pod is an open standard. Anyone can make them and anyone can make a pod brewer. Some of the most popular are the Senseo made by Phillips. Prices start around $60 at Target. You will find the most varieties of coffee available in pod form.
2. K-Cups - The K-Kup is used in a Keurig coffee maker like the B60 you found. The K-Cup is patented by Green Mountain Coffee Roasters(they bought Keurig). Keurig controls the entire market.
3. T-Discs - Kraft owns the Tassimo franchise and Bosch is the manufacturer of the new Tassimo system (Braun used to make them). They are priced at $99 or $129 and can make not just coffee but also lattes and espresso drinks.
The most affordable units up front and in the long run (because the coffee is cheaper) are the Pod machines. For example, The Coffee Artisan is selling the Melitta MES5B Pod Brewer and a case of 108 coffee pods for $79.99 with free UPS Ground shipping. Average cost per 8 oz. cup is about 40 cents.

What happened to all the senseo coffee pods? I can't find any in the stores. I bought two single coffee?
Q. makers for the senseo coffee pods - one for my desk at work and one for my apartment. What am I supposed to do with them now that there are no senseo coffee pods in the stores?
A. Senseo makers and pods are still available in many stores and online. I've seen them advertised fairly often recently.
