Thanks Mark. Science...screws me again.
A : In addition to the fact the output won't be carbonated, I wouldn't use the mineral water in the machine. The minerals will build up, over time, and shorten the life of the machine.
what is the best keurig coffee machine?
Q : looking to get one for my girlfriend for christmas. She will use it once a day, maybe maybe twice. So a simple machine with little cleaning like this is perfect for us, as I super rarely drink coffee. Just curious how people felt about the ones they have, and if the better models are worth the money.
A : There are Keurig name-brand coffee makers, K-Cup compatible coffee makers, and single-serve coffee makers in general (with different, incompatible cartridges).
Of the Keurig B70, B60, B40, and B31, the differences are are along the dimensions of cup size settings, water tank size, water filter, auto off, clock, etc. They'll all have reusable coffee filters and removable drip trays. The B40 is at a nice price-point with still a 48 ounce water tank, same as the B60. The B31 only has a 10 ounce tank, which will need re-filled often -- not a huge deal but a bit inconvenient.
Some non-Keurig makers that are K-Cup compatible are the Breville BKC700XL, Cuisinart SS-700, and Mr.Coffee KG2.
Also consider the competing T-Disc Bosch makers and the Senseo makers that use Pods, which are less expensive than K-Cups. The T-Discs, while more expensive than K-Cups on average, have an interesting feature in their bar-codes that instructs the coffee maker automatically regarding water quantity, temperature, and timing for brewing.
Is there a way to brew stronger coffee with the Keurig one cup coffee machine?
Q : I'm thinking about buying one of the big ones with 5 different cup size options. My question, though, is if the same amount of coffee grinds are used for the 12 oz as the 6 oz, how will that effect how strong my coffee is? I typically like stronger coffee anyway, so is there a way to brew stronger coffee? I tried asking someone at Bed Bath and Beyond and he offered no help.
A : There are two ways to create STRONGER coffee. One is to increase the amount of grinds, the other is to decrease the amount of water. So the answer is YES, the amount of coffee is the same in a 12 oz cup as the larger with a Keurig brewer. If you cannot select a smaller cup size with your brewer, just remove the cup before it is finished brewing and catch the excess in another cup. Then you can get the desired strength...sounds like a hassel rather than a convenience. I prefer a press.
Where can you get k cups for keurig single cup coffee machines?
Q : I want to get my dad a keurig for christmas but i need to know where you can get the coffee cups to make all the different drinks. i don't want to have to order them every time we want coffee. can you get them at walmart?
A : Yup, they have them at Walmart- I have the Senseo machine and those pods were right next to the Keurig. They were $9. Just saw them yesterday morning.
