How many tacos will 1 pound of ground beef make?
Q. For a school project, we are selling tacos for lunch, so I need an estimation of how many tacos we can put out per pound of ground beef.

A. i just checked the Top Secret Recipes book that I have and checked under (choke) Taco Bell, ONLY for the amounts used in tacos:
The "meat" portion of a Taco Bell taco is approximately 2.5 ounces. The remainder is made up of lettuce, cheese and sour cream.
Taking tha into account, 1 lb of LEAN ground beef (16 ounces) when cooked down, will be about 13-14 ounces. If you use a filler (like pinto beans, Mexican Rice, etc, to "extend" the beef, then you can figure out about 16 ounces when cooked:
You'll get between 6 and 7 tacos out of a pound of beef, that's a pretty accurate "guesstimate".....Enjoy, and best of luck at your sale!!!!!

BTW, Here's the recipe for Taco Bell's Chalupa (like the soft, spongy taco) that the little Chichihua was pumping out a few years ago.........
Taco Bell Chalupa Supreme
1 pound ground beef
1/4 cup flour
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon dried minced onion
1/2 cup water
Flat bread (pita will work)
Oil for deepâfrying
Sour Cream
Shredded lettuce
Shredded Cheddar/Jack cheese
Diced Tomatoes
Mix dried onion with water in a small bowl and let stand for
five minutes. Combine ground beef, flour, chili powder,
paprika, and salt. Mix well. Add onions and water. Mix again.
In a skillet, cook beef mixture until browned. Stir often
while cooking so no large chunks form; it should be more like
a paste. Remove from heat and keep warm.
In a deepâfryer (or you can use a skillet) deep fry the
bread for 30 seconds. Let drain on absorbent towels.
Build Chalupas starting with meat, then sour cream, lettuce
cheese, and tomatoes in that order. Top with hot sauce or
salsa if desired.

I'm planning a tea party and would like to offer tea/coffee for my guests along with some snacks for 20 guests?
Q. I was wondering on how to do that. If I buy a coffee maker and prepare coffee myself, all the guest can't have coffee at the same time. The max a coffee maker can make is 10 cups of coffee right? what are the other options? Does starbucks or peets do catering? how much does that cost and ESPECIALLY, WILL THAT BE A GOOD IDEA?

A. Starbucks and most coffee places sale coffee in a cardboard box that serves 8-10. Yes they cater with muffins, danishes, biscotti, fruit etc-check the location.
Some other places that do
Check with local bakeries who also will make tea sandwiches, tea cakes, petit fours, mini eclairs and alot of them also can supply coffee. Bear Rock Cafe is also a great caterer for coffee and sweets.
You can buy pump urns to put the coffee in- I bought some from Linens and Things-I use them for author events or when I pass out food to the homeless. They will keep the coffee warm for hours. Target also sells them.

A. Only use Arsenal .com, every other site is over priced and have no guarantee. Look for general sale tickets especially for pre season matches, Carling Cup/FA cup matches and youth/ladies matches
